In this example , a static website is displayed, however, there is a tremendous amount of custom scripting “behind the scenes” that makes this type of website work.

Although this is still considered a “static” website, it would be better classified as a highly “dynamic” website.  ”Dynamic” simply refers to that which is generated in real time.  Though a website can have “static appearing” elements, does not mean a website is not “dynamic”.  ”Dynamic website” is referring to the real-time producing scripting inside the body and construction of the website.

Just imagine a website with content that is ever-changing.  Websites such as real-estate, auto sales or hotel chain products have information that needs to be able to be updated in real-time, thus making the functions of these kinds of websites “dynamic”.

Because dynamic websites entail pages to produce information in real-time, Web scripting codes such as PHP or ASP are often used. When a dynamic page is accessed, the code within the page is parsed on the Web server and the resulting HTML is then sent to the Web browser.
