Hot on the Estonian Police Beat with VisiFlex™ V8000

“I have to say that we are very pleased with the Avery Dennison VisiFlex V8000 material...it looks amazing, really nice with its beautiful glossy finish, which looks great on this new fleet.”

Even before Ahto Piipuu of Convert Consult in Estonia signed a contract to decorate 200 new police fleet vehicles for the Estonia Police Department, he knew he would need a reflective film with more superior features than he was accustomed to using. The department wanted the vehicles turned around quickly, and with a small application team. Ahto knew there was no room for errors that might delay delivery. Being such a visible project, Ahto also wanted to create a positive impression to help propel his business to gain new clients.

Ahto turned to Avery Dennison experts for help. Ahto’s project requirements were carefully reviewed, including the police department’s demand for a high-gloss product that would make the new vehicles look as attractive during the day as at night under reflected light. The department insisted that the fleet stand out day and night to draw attention, helping them deliver on their mission of public safety.

VisiFlex V8000 was selected for the project to address the department’s need for high gloss and high reflectivity. Being easy to computer-cut, the production of the individual pieces for each car and van proceeded very quickly.

What really left Ahto impressed and kept the project on track was the ease and speed of application of VisiFlex on the vehicles. “I could not believe how smooth the surface of the film was, and how easy this made applying it to the sides of the vehicles”, said Ahto. “I know prismatic films can be stiff and harder to apply, but not VisiFlex.” It also applied very easily to curves, and the door edges. “Quick and easy, and only a few small air bubbles that could easily be squeezed to the edge!”

Another feature that sped up delivery time was the lack of a requirement to edge-seal the film to keep out dirt and prevent delamination. “I really hate edge-sealing other prismatic films, it’s a really slow process, and if you’re not careful, the chemical can damage the finish,” added Ahto, “and it just looks bad on a new car.”

“I have to say that we are very pleased with the Avery Dennison VisiFlex V8000 material”, said Kalmer Tikerpe, Police Major with the department. And Ahto agrees, “It looks amazing, really nice with its beautiful glossy finish, which looks great on this new fleet.”
