Francisco is a global leader in digital technology solutions with over 20 years’ experience in enterprise strategy and new technology adoption. He is a firm believer in using technology as a force for good in society and in the power of digital identities to tackle some of the world’s toughest challenges such as climate change.

As president of Solutions Group at Avery Dennison, Francisco is responsible for evolving and developing the business strategy and leadership at the intersection between the physical and digital world to drive value creation for customers across multiple industries. Francisco is passionate about the opportunity to create a better world through digitizing products and supply chains to benefit people, the planet, and profit. A world where customer experience and engagement are transformed by digital identification, unique branding, and embellishment solutions. A world where waste can be reduced and a more sustainable, transparent, and circular economy can be realized.

As senior vice president and general manager of Avery Dennison Smartrac, Francisco leads a global team focused on building a future where every physical item will have a unique digital identity and digital life. The business works with some of the world’s biggest brands across retail, apparel, beauty, food, pharma and automotive. In recent years, Francisco has overseen the acquisition of several technology companies, investments in leading tech startups, the acceleration of the company’s digital ID portfolio and the launch of atma.io – a product cloud solution that unlocks the power of connected products.

Prior to Avery Dennison, Francisco was a co-founder and CEO of Creativesystems, an RFID systems integrator and SW developer company. His earlier career includes extensive international experience in management, consulting, and business development with Synectics Inc. and Altran, as well as market development and product development roles at Royal Philips Electronics.

Francisco has a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering and a Masters of Science in Instrument Design and Application from The University of Manchester in the United Kingdom. He is dedicated to advancing future talent and has collaborated over the years with the Porto Business School (PBS) at the University of Porto (Portugal) in the field of innovation and creativity. He is on the Board of a number of tech start-ups and is an active member of Abundance 360 and Digital 50.
